$15m for Britney Spears to appear on US X Factor – Jamie Tuohy

Britney Spears has long been in contention for a judging role on the US version of X Factor. For the last number of weeks, rumours have been rife that the singer has signed on the dotted line to appear on the US talent show.

After much speculation, it is widely believed that Britney has agreed to accept Simon Cowell’s offer and will take her seat on the judging panel for a staggering and record breaking $15million.

Spears has reportedly singed a $15million deal to appear on Cowell's talent show

The eye watering amount of money would see Britney earning a ridiculous €365,000 for every hour she appears on the talent show and would make her the highest paid judge on any talent show, putting Jennifer Lopez’ $12million fee for American Idol in the shade.

Cowell has been keen to get Britney on board for some time, saying “she’s one of the most talked about stars on the planet” and it looks like the British music mogul has done just that. Ever the businessman, Cowell knows that Britney’s profile will send viewing figures sky high.

The deal will make Britney the highest paid talent show judge on television

Over her lengthy and often tumultuous career, Britney has accumulated an estimated fortune of $160million and sold over 100million albums. As a judge on a show as high profile as X Factor, which will undoubtedly see the pop princess performing and promoting new tracks on results night, Spears can expect her profile to be raised to even more mind boggling heights.

There has been no official announcement as of yet, but with all sources hinting that the deal is in the bag, it looks like there will be a rally of young X Factor hopefuls on this year’s show, vying for a place on team Britney’.
