One Direction’s fortune set to DOUBLE to £64m

When Simon Cowell decided to form a boyband from five bootcamp rejects two years ago, no one could have envisaged the scale of that band’s success. And it appears no one had foreboded their potential for money-making either! Of course, that band is One Direction, comprising of Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne, who have collectively racked up a fortune of £32million. Proving that winning the X Factor doesn’t equate to soaring record sales (sorry Matt Cardle), these five lads have not only achieved a plethora of top 10 hits, but have also cracked the exclusive American market, with their solo album debuting at No.1 in the U.S. Billbord 200. After collecting a BRIT award for “Best British Single” withWhat Makes You Beautiful and making chart history, it has emerged that One Direction’s fortune is set to DOUBLE to a mind-blowing £64million in the next year.

The boys, who are signed to Simon Cowell’s SyCo in the UK and Columbia Records in America, have amassed their fortune through sales of tickets for their sell out worldwide tours, CD and DVD sales and endorsement deals with companies such as Pokémon, Nokia, HarperCollins and Hasbro. Cowell and his crew struck gold at the perfect time – just when the music industry was searching for a fresh injection of British pop mania, with a cheeky Irish twist. Now, thanks to their hardcore ‘Directioners’ all over the world, who would LITERALLY do anything for the boys, Niall, Harry, Louis, Zayn and Liam are about to see their wealth ascend into even more stratospheric levels.

Harry and Co are already big spenders and have been flashing their newfound wealth over the past year, with Range Rovers and £2m penthouses floating around amongst the band’s assets. With a team of 90 people around them, comprising of bodyguards, stylists and hairdressers, One Direction have become a perfectly coiffed, well-oiled machine that’s well on its way to becoming an institution. Simon Cowell knows exactly what these guys need to do to remain at the top and he’s sticking to the hymn sheet religiously. These five guys might have just got lucky on the day Simon was looking for a new boyband, but they’re certainly living up to their name and heading, full-speed ahead in one direction – world domination!

  1. Can someone please explain the reasons to me (besides A) I can’t sing & B) I didn’t audition for The X Factor) why I am not in this band!?

I could happily do with a share of that £64m.
