One Direction’s Niall Horan has apologised via Twitter for swearing at his fans earlier in the week. The Irish singer was spotted dropping the horrendous ‘C’ word to 1D fans as he strolled through Dublin airport on Monday. A posted the video to YouTube, but Niall insisted that his remarks were not meant to call offence and branded his insult as banter.
The star was also overheard calling waiting fans ‘a bunch of hoors’, which admittedly is a term of banter in Ireland, but it’s not exactly the kind of thing someone in the pubic eye should be uttering. The 19-year-old star tweeted:
‘Really sorry if I caused any offence. It was just banter with fans who I think of more as mates.’
‘But I understand that it’s not a word I should be using at all.’
His fans were quick to defend him, with one even tweeting that it’s a word we use all the time in Ireland and means nothing.
While this is hardly true, Niall was right to apologise and hopefully he’s learned that his fans are the people that have put him in the position he’s in today! Tut, tut Niall!
